Writefully So
Overview
Writefully So is a desktop writing app I built because the tools I wanted didn’t exist. I needed something offline, private, and designed for the way I think about stories — not just a text editor, but a creative workspace.
Everything lives on your machine. No cloud, no accounts, no telemetry.
Why I Built It
As a game designer, I’m constantly building worlds, tracking characters, and outlining branching narratives. Scrivener came close but felt dated. Notion required internet. I wanted something that combined a beautiful writing experience with the kind of structured tools I use in game design — character profiles, relationship webs, lore codexes, maps.
So I built it.
Key Features
Distraction-Free Editor
A paginated rich-text editor with 13 font choices, highlighting, and a Zen Mode that strips everything away except your words.
Character Tools
Detailed character profiles with traits, relationships, and portraits. An interactive Character Web visualizes how your cast connects — something I use constantly for game narrative design.
World-Building Codex
An encyclopedia for locations, lore, items, and magic systems. Tag and cross-reference entries to build a living reference for your world.
Maps & Timelines
Draw custom maps and create color-coded event timelines. Essential for tracking nonlinear narratives and open-world game settings.
Outliner View
A spreadsheet-style manuscript overview for tracking chapters, word count, and point of view at a glance.
